Practical information and visit tips

Attendance and visit comfort

For reasons of safety and visit comfort, the Museum can only accommodate 50 people at a time, including the shop. Depending on the number of visitors, you may have to wait outside.
Tip : schedule your visit before 2 p.m., outside school holidays, bank holidays and long weekends. Weekdays are also advisable, due to the smoother flow of visitors to the Museum.

The period from mid-May to the end of June is ideal for enjoying the garden at its best. Autumn provides an incomparable palette of colours and lights.

Accessibility

The villa’s period architecture makes it inaccessible to people with reduced mobility and pushchairs. The Museum has three levels, served exclusively by a staircase.

Ticketing

We strongly recommend buying tickets online all year round. Rates are the same onsite and online.

Estimated visit duration

About 45 minutes for the Museum. Allow around 1h30 to enjoy the entire site.

Bags and luggage

A visual check of bag contents is carried out by reception staff at the Museum entrance.

Luggage is not allowed under the Vigipirate plan. The Christian Dior Museum does not have a cloakroom. Lockers are available at the Granville Terre et Mer Tourist Office. Opening hours, rates and further information : www.tourisme-granville-terre-mer.com

The Mercure Hotel, not far from the museum, also offers a luggage storage service.

Young visitors

Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult when they visit the Christian Dior Museum.

La Rose du Rocher tearoom

The La Rose du Rocher tearoom, set in the midst of the garden, is independent of the Museum. If you have any questions or require further information, please visit our website: www.larosedurocher.com

Please note

Dogs are not allowed in the garden or inside the Christian Dior Museum, with the exception of assistance dogs.

Public toilets are located outside the museum, in a white-and-blue striped pavilion at the far end of the garden.

Consumption of food and drink is not permitted in the Museum.

The shop is accessible without a ticket, depending on the number of visitors.

How to get to the Christian Dior Museum ?

Located on a cliff overlooking the sea, Villa Les Rhumbs opens its doors to you in the heart of Granville. Whether you come by bike, bus, train or car, the Christian Dior Museum is within easy reach.

Address

Musée Christian Dior – Villa Les Rhumbs
Rue d’Estouteville
50400 Granville

By bike and scooter

Use the bicycle and scooter racks at the garden entrance in Rue d’Estouteville or Rue du Cimetière Notre-Dame. So as to enable everyone to make the most of the site, bicycles and scooters may not be parked inside the garden. Dedicated areas are available outside. By bike, it takes 8 minutes to reach the Museum from the railway station (1.8 km).

By city bus

The Christian Dior Museum is served by the Neva bus network, which is free for everyone. Every 40 minutes from Monday to Saturday, line 2 reaches the Museum in just a few minutes from the city centre, the outskirts or the railway station. The “Sévigné” stop, which serves the Museum, is 230 metres from the garden entrance.

By coach

Groups arriving by coach can be dropped off at the bottom of Rue d’Estouteville, Avenue de la Libération, 230 metres from the garden entrance. Coaches can then park in the spaces provided on Boulevard Vaufleury.

By train

Trains from Paris, Caen, Rennes and Cherbourg, among others, call at Granville. The railway station is a 1.2-km walk from the Museum, which can also be reached by bus.

By car

The Christian Dior Museum does not have a private car park, but a disabled parking space is available in Rue d’Estouteville.

Park your car in one of the town’s free car parks and make your way to the Museum on foot or by free city bus. An opportunity to discover the city and walk alongside the sea on the Plat Gousset promenade, which leads directly to the Christian Dior garden

Better prepare your visit

The autobiography Dior by Dior, first published in 1956, is an excellent introduction (available at our shop and in bookshops). You can also watch Mathias Ledoux’s documentary “Christian Dior, le Révolutionnaire de la Mode”. A visit to the Dior Gallery in Paris, which tells the story of the fashion house, complements or prepares you for a visit to the Museum.

Explore the enchanted world of Christian Dior’s childhood

Much more than a memorial, the Christian Dior Museum is an invitation to imaginary journeys and daydreaming. To avoid having to wait, book your ticket online.
