The Christian Dior Museum of Granville will be honoring Marc Bohan, artistic director of the Dior couture house from 1961-1989, at the Villa "Les Rhumbs", from May 1 to September 20, 2009 through a temporary exhibition offering for the first time the opportunity to rediscover the world of the creator, recalling the key personalities and stars who frequented the salons on Avenue Montaigne in Paris.

The exhibition "Dior, the Bohan years. Three decades of styles and stars (1961-1989)" refers to Marc Bohan's almost 30 years of designs for Christian Dior, and recalls some of the couture house's most illustrious customers: Grace of Monaco, Jackie Kennedy, Princess Soraya, Sophia Loren, Olivia de Havilland, Princess Margaret, Elizabeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot, Michèle Morgan, Empress Farah of Iran, Isabelle Adjani, Sylvie Vartan, Lauren Hutton, Maria Callas... On this occasion, an exceptional loan of dresses created by Marc Bohan for Princess Grace was specifically granted by the Principality of Monaco to the Christian Dior Museum.

In addition, some of Marc Bohan's major artistic collaborations are also evoked. For example, photographs by Dominique Issermann for Dior will be presented in the original scenographic description of a "theater of images" and René Gruau's legendary creations for Dior fragrances will be displayed in the villa's winter garden.

| |
Through a set of more than 60 haute couture garments, along with fashion accessories and perfumes, side by side with designer furniture and objects, the exhibition allows vivitors to discover and enjoy the evolution of lifestyle, design and elegance from the 1960s to the 1980s both within the villa's rooms and out in its gardens. During summer 2009, the wind of the Bohan for Dior years will blow on Granville and Villa "Les Rhumbs".
